My Hanuman !

When I was about to set on my journey leaving my parents and start a new life in another city, my guru blessed me with a simple sentence, “Go ahead son, Hanuman is already there for you! To be with you always”
I left for my city of destination and it was difficult for me, like any other 22 year old to leave their home town and adjust in a new city. But as they say, human is a super adaptable animal and so was I. Slowly and steadily, started my professional journey and got used to the new life with new acquaintances, some of whom turned great friends and a few of them have become family here!
There was this hostel in which we were allotted rooms with 2 candidates in one room. In this same hostel, we made lots of friends, had so many trips, innumerable birthday celebrations and dozens of late night outs. Some became friends as we were from the same geographical part of the country, whereas some of them became friends just like that.
I remember that night even after 12 years when I had to visit a centre for one of my exams in this new city which was around 60 km from my hostel. I decided to visit the centre before the exam day. One of my close friend (used to call him “sir jee”) at our hostel said “I ll give you company, don’t go there alone.” So we both started our journey in my 2 wheeler (with other state registration number) after our office ended at around 6 PM and checked the centre and were on our way back to hostel. It was pitch dark and the route was totally silent. The centre was a college located in outskirts of city which was still developing in that part of the city. During the day time, it might be safe but at night it was dangerous like a forest.
Both of us were terrified by the sight of the roads and somehow were moving slowly to our destination but fate had its own exam written for us. There was a traffic police check up on the highway and we were asked to show the documents of the vehicle. Being an other state vehicle, the police was not willing to leave us and demanded to seize the vehicle as we did not have the required documents. I had never been in such a situation and was totally numb. But “sir jee” had been a pro in these situations and he managed the policemen somehow and saved us from this dangerous situation. The police allowed us to go upon assuring that we would get the formalities of the vehicle done in coming days. Finally we returned back to hostel that night around midnight.
That day I realised this was my hanuman which my guru had told me about. I never told this to “sirjee” aka “bhai” (he being a die hard Salman Khan Fan !) but had always this regard for him in my heart irrespective of the status of our friendship. There was a time when we had a crazy fight and we were not in talking terms but how could my hanuman be away from me? Lord Hanuman ji himself made it alright and we were friends again and this time even stronger !
Years have passed by and I have numerous stories in my heart which have reinforced my belief about my Hanuman (the protector, the angel, the well wisher) who has always been there through all my thick and thin. He is no more than a brother from another mother for me and that’s why the name “bhai”.
At times, there comes a patch when we could not even meet for weeks and there starts my worry. Is there something wrong? But then we meet after a long gap, hang up, chat so many topics (mostly cars🤓 and nowadays ghar grishasti also.. lol !) and things are normal again! Because deep down the heart, I know whatever may be outside, there is a deep karmic connection between me and my hanuman, which has been established by the supreme power himself (Lord Shiva who is strongly followed by “Bhai”). I am thankful and will be forever grateful to the supreme power for sending such people in my life and making them a part of my family ! Thank you, Almighty 🙏🏼
